Application for Assistance

The North Texas Pet Food provides food for animals who's families can't provide it on their own. If you are in need of pet food, please submit a completed application.

NOTE: This application is for individual pet owners only. We are unable to provide assistance to independent rescuers. If you have rescued more animals than you are able to feed, we can provide you with information and recommend that you work with a 501c3 Rescue Group with experience in caring for, and funding a large number of animals.

Independent Feral Cat Feeders – We are unable to provide pet food assistance. If you are attempting to feed more feral cats than you can afford, we can provide you with information and recommend that you work with a 501c3 Cat Rescue with experience in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) and experience in caring for, and funding a large number of feral cats.

Your application will be reviewed upon submission. You will be notified two-three days after submittal of the status of your application. If it is approved you will be given instructions on location and times you may pick-up your food.

Food assistance is subject to availability. We reserve the right to limit amounts.

For temporary emergency assistance, we will make every effort to provide two weeks of food according to the recommended feeding guidelines for the breed, size and weight of your pets.

Long-term assistance guidelines may vary. If you are approved for long-term assistance, arrangements will be made for your specific situation

If you do not qualify for public assistance from other Social / Community Programs, you still may qualify for emergency assistance after full details of the nature of your emergency has been reviewed.

Also, you may qualify for discount purchase of pet foods. If qualified, we will provide you with pet food assistance for $5 for each 20lbs of pet foods. We do not guarantee any brand, type or size of pet food. We are only able to provide pet foods that are available at the time.

NOTE: We do not provide pet food assistance to breeders (of any kind). If you have puppies that you are planning on selling, you are strictly prohibited from pet food assistance from the North Texas Pet Food Pantry. We strongly recommend that all pets be spayed/neutered.
